*****5 STAR RATING
We had our daughters Rehearsal dinner here and it was fabulous. Food was delicious. Delicious appetizers. I had the steak, that was cooked to perfection. Presentation was nice. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this for your special gathering, or just a nice evening out.

My husband and I booked the Atrium for our son's and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner. As some of us know, when there's a special occasion there are no do-overs. It's make it or break it and after meeting with Denise I felt as if she genuinely understood and embraced this concept. It was her goal from beginning to end to make our evening as special as the event should be. Whatever I requested, from the chilled salad forks to ordering an off menu dessert, Denise's answer was always the same. She'd jot it down in her notebook and say, "Not a problem. We can do that." She suggested that we pre-order and took it upon herself to email our guests the personalized menu and a follow up phone call if necessary which thankfully left me without that extra chore. But no matter how accommodating Denise was if the food was substandard the event would be deemed a disaster. I am please to say that the appetizers, entrees and dessert were as excellent as her attitude. My Strip Steak that was paired with Crab Mashers rivaled Morton's in their heyday and my husband's Cedar Planked Salmon was moist and perfectly prepared. From the edible art that was presented on 3 tables on one side of the fountain that graces this elegantly rustic room, to the center pieces on our tables, the staff that anticipating our every need, Chef Tom's flexibility and execution of his menu, from beginning to end, there was no need for a do-over at Matchworks Tavern.

*****5 Stars / Dined on 02.22.2013
My dinner companion and I stopped in on February 22, 2013 for a “special occasion” dinner. While we had been at a previous restaurant at the same location we were not sure what to expect at the Match Works Tavern. You greeted us with a friendly hello and within a minute we felt as if we were old friends. We met our server Angela, ordered coffee, and enjoyed discussing appetizer’s, getting her opinion on menu items, and learning about the specials. When I took the first taste of the coffee I instantly knew we had made the correct choice in experiencing your restaurant. We ordered appetizers and you took the time to discuss the history of the building and of your restaurant with us. You made sure every detail of our dinner experience was taken care of. Angela, our server, was very knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Angela is an exceptional server that perfectly balanced her time at our table. She took the few extra seconds to have a pleasurable chat when we initiated it. Then the food began to arrive. I was told by my dinner companion that the lamb kabobs were very good; however, I can truthfully say that the Maine lobster bisque was the best I have ever had. Next was the main course. Chicken Masala that was perfect and a prime rib tomahawk chop that looked too good to eat. From across the table the prime rib looked like heaven on a plate. The food not only looked good but tasted phenomenal. It was greatly appreciated when you stopped by the table to ensure the dinner was perfect. It was perfect, in every way. We were full from the main course but the desert menu was too intriguing to pass up. The crème brulee was crunchy on top, as smooth as silk underneath, and delicious throughout. My companion had the carrot cake and wondered how the chef got a copy of her recipe! Needless to say, desert was wonderful, especially with the coffee. Overall, the food and service was outstanding. The atmosphere is nothing short of fabulous. You, the chef, and Angela made sure our dinner was exceptional. We pulled into the parking lot of your restaurant as guests and left as friends looking forward to the next visit. Obviously, our first visit to the Match Works Tavern will not be the last. We look forward to seeing you again soon, Debbie and Teri

Why? Match Works Tavern!

Match Works Tavern offers friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and truly amazing food. Plus, supporting owners who have spent their careers contributing great food to the CLE restaurant scene is always a good thing. And until the next time, I’ll be dreaming about that duck pierogi…
